Chandigarh

The Chandigarh administration announced a weekend lockout in the union territory from 10 am on Friday to 5 am on Monday. The home delivery of essential activities and services and food is excluded from the scope of the lockdown and residents are urged to stay indoors, the administration said. If they plan to travel to the Union Territory then the passengers will have to register themselves on the COVA Punjab app.

Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday announced a statewide lockout. “There will be a weekly shutdown in all rural and urban areas of the state on Sunday. Only sanitation, hygiene and emergency services will operate during this period. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement, necessary awareness work should also be done in this regard. For the first time, the state government has also doubled the fine of Rs 1000 for those caught without a mask and Rs 10,000 for repeat offenders. Passengers arriving in UP from Maharashtra and Kerala within 72 hours prior to the trip should take a negative RT-PCR report.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra announced a 15-day curfew on May 1 from 7 a.m. to 15 May, stern action on public activities, but was barred from declaring a full-scale lockout. Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC), dealing with gatherings and gathering of people, will remain in force until “lockdown-like” sanctions are enacted. All necessary services including medical store hospitals, supply of medicines will be operational. Local transport will also work for those involved in essential services. Services such as vaccination, oxygen production, home delivery of food, operation of e-commerce firms, residential facility and industrial activities with construction sites where personnel accommodation or transportation is available will remain unaffected.

Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced several restrictions including curfew and closure of malls, gyms, spas and auditoriums over a weekend to break the chain of Covid infection in the national capital. Those going for vaccination will have to apply for a curfew pass. Mediaperson is exempted from the weekend curfew. Movement of people will be allowed for wedding-related (up to 50 people) and funeral-related (up to 20 people) meetings. People who trade food, groceries, fruits, vegetables and dairy products will also have to look for curfew passes for their movement. A weekly market in an area will be allowed to open per day. The DDMA said that the metro, buses such as public transport, autorickshaws and taxis will only be allowed to operate within the stipulated time to transport those who are exempted from the weekend curfew.

Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh government issued an order stating that the restrictions were currently part of the “Corona curfew” to deal with the increase in Covid-19 cases and should not be called “lockdown”. The order states that essential services including industries, medical establishments, construction activities, chemistry shops, grocery stores etc. will continue during the corona. Passengers arriving from Maharashtra to Indore and Bhopal cannot take a negative RT-PCR report before 48 hours.

Karnataka

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said in a review of Covid-19 today that night curfew will continue in seven districts including Bengaluru. Refusing to term the sanctions as ‘lockdown’, the state administration imposed curfew in the worst Covid-affected districts: Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Tumkuru, Udupi and Manipal between 10 am and 5 am. is. Uttarakhand

Amidst the huge increase in cases of coronovirus during the ongoing Kumbh Mela in Uttarakhand, night curfew will be imposed across the state from 10.30 am to 5 am every night. The state government announced sanctions. Buses, auto-rickshaws etc. will be operated with 50 percent seating capacity. Similar gyms are also required to follow the 50 percent occupancy rule. The coaching center, swimming pool and spa will be closed under further notice. A cap of 200 people will be allowed in all ceremonies including religious in the state.

Haryana

Haryana has imposed curfew in the state from 10 am to 5 am, although no lockdown or weekend curfew has been imposed. All schools, colleges, coaching institutes, libraries and training institutes are closed till 30 April. Commissioners may further impose Section 144 for enforcement of the Corona Curfew and other restrictions are required at the local level.

Gujarat

The Gujarat government imposed a night curfew in 20 cities: Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Gandhinagar, Anand, Nadiad, Mehsana, Morbi, Dahod, Patan, Godhra, Bhuj, Gandhidham. , As per the order of the High Court, Bharuch, Surendranagar and Amreli. A negative RT-PCR report is mandatory for visitors to the state. Travelers going to Surat will have to download the SMC Covid-19 tracker app and fill out an online self-reporting form.

Odisha

Kerala

Chattisgarh

In view of the increase in cases of coronovirus, Chhattisgarh put a lockout in Sukma and Durg till 19 April. In Durg, the boundaries of the district will remain sealed while entry into the district will be done only after producing an e-pass. However, shops selling essential commodities will be allowed to operate. The bank and the post office will be operational between 10 am and 1 am. In Sukma, curfew has been imposed from 12 pm to 7 am. Shops will be open from 7 am to 12 am.

In view of a possible surge, the Centre has suggested urgently increasing bed capacity in Delhi, particularly ICU beds to around 6,431, to handle the increase to 500 cases per million. Currently, Delhi has 3,491 ICU beds of which 88% are occupied. The assessment was presented to a gathering convened by home minister Amit Shah and attended by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and senior central and state officials on Sunday.

Some of the 12 decisions taken have begun to roll out. Doctors and paramedical staff started arriving in Delhi on Monday to spice up manpower at city hospitals treating Covid-19 cases, while 10,000 additional RT-PCR tests are set to strengthen the daily testing capacity starting Tuesday.
