The former Indian captain was in hospital recently after complaining of chest pain. He underwent angioplasty after 5 days of continuous monitoring by doctors and left the hospital. “I’m fine,” Sourav Ganguly said after being discharged.

BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly was diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries on Saturday, after which a stent was inserted to remove the blockage. Ganguly on Sunday tested negative for Covid-19.

The medical team was formed on Monday, which then decided that Ganguly did not require any further angioplasty for the remaining blockages in his coronary arteries.

Dr. Rupali Basu MD and CEO Woodlands Hospital had earlier told India Today that Ganguly would be able to resume his normal life in 3-4 weeks if the remaining two blocked arteries became vascular.

“I don’t think we are considering surgery at this time because of his young age and progression of angioplasty.

“But we are getting an expert opinion from the best cardiologists in the country and the world and then we have to call about what to do with 2 blocked arteries and do it once, another 3-4 weeks rest and Dr. Basu Had said that he should come back to his active life and this is what we want for Dada’s active life.
