Following its usual annual tradition of launching new phones around this time, Apple is speculated to unveil its upcoming iPhone 15 series in September this year. About two months later, the company is likely to unveil the successor to the iPhone 14 series.

The upcoming event will showcase four models: iPhone 15, Plus, Pro and Pro Max. However, in this article our focus will be on the standard versions. Based on current leaks, it appears that the iPhone 15 and its Plus variant will receive three significant enhancements compared to their previous iterations. Here is a comprehensive overview of all the information available to us at this point.

Dynamic Island comes to Non-Pro

As per leaks, the standard versions of the iPhone 15 series are rumored to include Apple’s new Dynamic Island feature while offering a punch-hole display design. Although there is no official confirmation about this yet.

For the time being, this design is exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro model. However, there are rumors that this may change for the iPhone 15 series. The inclusion of this new design will help Apple differentiate the latest version from the previous model, after it received criticism last year for maintaining the same design for the regular model over an extended period.

Furthermore, the leak also indicates that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus could sport a frosted glass back with a matte finish, reminiscent of the design seen on last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models.

The standard versions of the iPhone 15 series are rumored to have 48-megapixel rear cameras, similar to those found on the iPhone 14 Pro models. This represents a significant improvement over the 12 megapixel sensor found in previous iPhone models.

However, it is important to note that the regular models are not expected to include a telephoto lens for optical zoom or a LiDAR sensor, as these features are reportedly reserved for the higher-end models. On the other hand, the Pro Max model is rumored to have a more prominent camera module, which could include a periscope lens capable of offering up to 5-6x optical zoom capability, apart from other sensors.

USB-C becomes the norm

According to reports, one possible change in the 2023 iPhone is that Apple will replace its Lightning port with a USB Type-C port. This shift to USB-C will simplify the charging process for users, as they will only need to carry a single USB-C charger that can be used for multiple devices.

In Q4 2022, Samsung emerged as the top smartphone maker ahead of Oppo, whose manufacturing shipments declined by 31 percent due to inventory issues in the entry-tier segment.

“Apple’s EMS partners Foxconn Hon Hai, Wistron and Pegatron were among the top 10 EMS players in India in terms of volume in 2022. Foxconn Hon Hai and Wistron lead the EMS landscape in terms of value,” Singh said.

Both these manufacturers have also received PLI incentive in recent disbursements.

Among OEMs, Oppo leads ‘Made in India’ smartphone shipments with 22 per cent share in 2022, followed by Samsung.

The report added that in the coming times, we could see the country taking advantage of the PLI scheme, thanks to rising exports from Apple and Samsung.

Apple recently launched the iPhone 14 Pro model as the first iPhone model without a notch and now, rumors about the next-generation iPhone Pro model have surfaced online. Reports suggest that there will be big differences between the standard Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, as the premium model will have many more exclusive features. Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also suggested that strong sales of the iPhone 14 Pro models will help Apple add even more features to the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Planting seeds for a better tomorrow

Apple isn’t known for revealing anything about its upcoming products, however, leakers and tipsters often offer details about what fans can expect. If the reports are to be believed, the Apple iPhone 15 series will also include four models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Design of Apple iPhone 15 Pro

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro models are said to feature a similar design to its predecessors. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the company will add solid-state power and volume buttons to iPhone 15 Pro models by pressing physical buttons. Kuo revealed in his tweet.

The processor of Apple iPhone 15 Pro

Under the hood, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro models will likely be powered by the A17 Bionic chip based on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process. Nikkei Asia suggests that 2023 will be the second year the company will reuse old chips in standard iPhone models. The Pro model is also said to get an increased RAM of 8 GB.

The camera of Apple iPhone 15 Pro

Apple added a new 48MP camera setup to the latest Apple iPhone 14 Pro model and on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max, the company will likely add a periscope telephoto lens.

New Delhi: The world’s largest Apple iPhone maker is based in a city that has been completely sealed off by the Chinese government. The Foxconn-owned factory recently witnessed massive labor demonstrations. Chinese authorities opted to lock down the city in response to the protests, asking everyone to stay at home and only go out if absolutely necessary.

According to an AFP alert, China has reportedly imposed a COVID-19 lockdown in several areas of Zhengzhou. It happened shortly after a tense worker protest at a Foxconn factory. The lockdown also puts financial pressure on businesses and China’s economy, which is already struggling as a result of the surge in Covid cases and subsequent lockdowns. (Also read: 10 big companies that laid off in a big way)

Workers have been angry at the Foxconn site since Wednesday. In the viral video, men can be seen breaking security cameras and vandalizing makeshift Covid testing facilities. However, none of the videos could be independently verified. In the video, the workers are raising slogans, ‘Give us our salary’. During the lockdown, they also made complaints about adverse working conditions. (Also Read:

Foxconn has acknowledged a “technical fault” on its end in response to the unrest. According to a Reuters article, the business claimed that a technical problem occurred during the onboarding process. “We apologize for an entry error in the computer system and assure that the actual remuneration is the same as agreed and on the official recruitment poster,” he said in a statement.

As per the latest reports, most of the protesters have left the area. Additionally, the business is attempting to work out a solution with remaining workers.

Covid cases are increasing again in China. Since the start of the pandemic, the company has reported a record number of cases. The long lockdown also had a negative impact on the county’s economic prospects. To manufacture its iPhones, Apple primarily relies on Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory. The plant is in charge of 70 percent of all iPhone shipments worldwide.

The iOS 14.5 developer beta debuted with the Apple Watch unlocking feature. Users need to manually enable the new feature on their iPhones. iOS 14.5 developer beta also brings app tracking transparency measures

Apple is making it easy for users to unlock their iPhone handsets through Face ID by wearing a mask. The change debuted through the iOS 14.5 developer beta. However, this feature requires an Apple Watch that can quickly unlock a connected iPhone even when the user is wearing a mask. This is in contrast to the current scenario in which users must either turn off their face masks or enter a passcode to unlock a new iPhone model that supports facial recognition.

iOS 14.5 developer beta, users need to manually enable the Apple Watch unlocking feature on their iPhone by going to Settings> Face ID and Passcode. A toggle called Apple Watch is available, which can be flipped to enable unlocking via the Apple Watch.

Once you enable the feature, you will be able to unlock your iPhone via iPhone just by looking at your screen while wearing the Apple Watch. A haptic feedback notification will appear on your Apple Watch to inform you about unlocking. You will also get the option to lock your iPhone called Lock iPhone directly from the same information.

New Face ID tech can be given in iPhone 13 series with small face notch

It all works in the same way that Apple currently allows Mac users to unlock their computers while wearing the Apple Watch. The new change will now make things easier for iPhone users.
