The Bombay High Court on Thursday granted bail to Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha in the Mumbai cruise drugs seizure case.

Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were also granted bail by the High Court along with Aryan Khan in this case. The court will give its detailed order on Friday.

Aryan Khan’s advocates sought permission from a single bench of Justice NW Sambre to deposit cash bail, which the court refused and said bail was to be granted.

Aryan (23), arrested along with a few others on October 3, has now moved the Bombay High Court after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast and claimed to have seized drugs, including charas.

The special NDPS Act court, in its 21-page order, said that the WhatsApp chat of Aryan Khan prima facie shows that he was “dealing in illegal drug activities on a regular basis” and hence it cannot be said that he was unlikely to do so. Offense on release on bail.

It was also assumed that Aryan knew that his friend and co-accused Arbaaz Merchant was in possession of drugs, and therefore had “conscious possession”, even though the NCB itself had not found any drugs on Aryan.

“Prima facie, in view of the involvement of the applicants/accused No. 1 to 3 (Aryan Khan, Merchant and Dhamecha) in a serious and serious offence, it is not a fit case for grant of bail,” the judge said in the order.

Earlier, a magistrate’s court while rejecting the bail plea of ​​the accused had held that only a special court can hear these cases.

Khan, Merchant and Dhamecha, along with others, were arrested on October 3 for alleged conspiracy, possession, consumption, purchase and smuggling of drugs under the NDPS Act. He is now in judicial custody. While Aryan Khan and Merchant are lodged in Arthur Road Jail, Dhamecha is lodged in the Byculla Women’s Jail in the city. So far 20 people have been arrested in this case.

MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been sent to 14-day judicial custody. His bail application will be heard by the court at 12.30 pm on Friday. The prosecution has said that they will not oppose Aryan’s bail plea. The court said that there is no need for custodial interrogation of the accused. Aryan has filed two bail applications through his lawyer Satish Maneshinde.

Aryan was produced in the Killa Court earlier in the day after he was arrested by the NCB in a drugs case last week. The NCB sought their custody as they are still conducting raids and anyone arrested in those raids would need to be confronted with the present accused. According to the remand copy of the NCB, “We have arrested Archit Kumar and a foreign national and the WhatsApp chats of these accused clearly show nexus between them, hence the need for custody.”

NCB had sought remand of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha and five others till October 11. Archit Kumar, who supplied drugs to Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant, was sent to NCB custody till October 9.
