Work is in full swing on the entire 82-km-long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, which will have a total of 25 stations, including two depots at Duhai and Modipuram and a stabilization yard at Jangpura.

NCRTC had awarded the contract to Bombardier to manufacture and maintain 210 commuter and intracity coaches for the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System in 2020. The contract was valued at approximately Rs 2,577 crore ($340 million) and has provisions for exercise. Option to place an order for an additional 90 cars.
