While some celebrity couples also decided to part ways, the announcement of Samantha Ruth Prabhu-Naga Chaitanya and Aamir Khan-Kiran Rao’s separation came as a huge blow to their fans.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya
The former couple got married in October 2017 to the delight of their fans, however, they ended their four-year-long marriage this year and announced their separation in October. After several reports leading to speculation about their divorce, Samantha and Naga finally confirmed their separation on social media, saying that they no longer see a future with each other. Samantha, who was seen this year in Amazon Prime Video’s hit series The Family Man, later opened up about being trolled for her divorce and expressed, “I thought that with my separation, I would crumble and I would die. I didn’t think I was capable of being that strong”.

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao
In July this year, Aamir and Kiran announced their separation and ended their 15-year-long marriage. The Lagaan actor married Kiran in 2005 after divorcing his first wife Reena Dutta. Announcing their divorce in a joint statement, Aamir and Kiran said, “Now we would like to start a new chapter in our lives – no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents to each other. and as family”. Even after the divorce, they are friends with each other and are often seen spending time with their son Azad Rao Khan.

Kirti Kulhari and Sahil Sehgal
Kirti Kulhari, known for her performances in Pink and Four More Shots Please, also ended her five-year-long marriage with husband Sahil Sehgal this year. Announcing the same, she posted a note on her social media account. “Looks like it ain’t easy, but it’s what it is”, the actress wrote.

Nisha Rawal and Karan Mehra
TV couple Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal, who exchanged wedding vows in 2012 and are parents to four-year-old son Kavish Mehra, shocked fans with their separation. Their separation was one of the biggest controversies of 2021 as both of them leveled some serious allegations against each other. While Nisha accused Karan of extramarital affairs and domestic abuse, the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor denied all the allegations leveled by his estranged wife. According to him, Nisha lied about the misbehavior to get a huge amount as alimony.

Nusrat Jahan and Nikhil Jain
Actress turned politician Nusrat Jahan married businessman Nikhil Jain in 2019. After announcing her separation in June this year, Nusrat claimed that her marriage with Nikhil was not legal and was more than a live-in relationship. Nikhil, on the other hand, shared that they lived together as a husband and wife.
