Weather update: Heavy rain likely in many states including Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka

New Delhi: According to the National Meteorological Forecasting Center of the Indian Meteorological Department:

15 April (Day 1): Thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms and gusty winds can reach 40-50 kmph at some places in Telangana; Lightning and thunderstorm accompanied with gusts of 30 to 40 kmph can be seen at some places in central Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Odisha and Chhattisgarh: 40- with lightning at some places in Royalseema, Marathwada- Possibility of strong winds at speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour; Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and In Karaikal and Kerala and some places in Mahe, lightning will break and strong winds will run at speeds of 30-40 kmph; Possibility of lightning at some places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Konkan and Goa, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Heavy rains may occur over Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe and some places of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karai tomorrow.

• Heat wave may occur over Haryana and some places in Saurashtra and Kutch.

16 April (Day 2): Possessive winds of 30-40 kmph with thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorm at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad; Possibility of lightning at some places in Assam and Meghalaya and strong winds at speeds of 40-50 kmph; Lightning strikes at 30-40 kmph in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and some places in Kerala and Mahe Possibility of strong winds; Possibility of lightning in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and some places in Yanam, RoyalSima, Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Heavy rains may occur over coastal and interior parts of South Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe and some places of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karai tomorrow.

Possibility of dust storm at a speed of 30-40 kmph in some places of West Rajasthan.

17 April (Day 3): Strong winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph with gusts of thunderstorms, lightning and hailstorms will occur over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh and some places in Delhi and Punjab may experience lightning, hailstorm and strong winds up to 30-40 kmph. Possibility of lightning and strong winds at speeds of 40-50 kmph at some places in Rajasthan, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoramtatha Tripura; West Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Kerala and some places in Mahe may witness lightning and strong winds at speeds up to 30-40 kmph; Possibility of lightning at Vidarbha, Bihar, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, coastal and interior parts of South Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and some places in Lakshadweep.

Heavy rains may occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Mahe and some places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

In some places of Rajasthan, dust storms with gusts up to 30-40 kmph will occur.

April 18 (Day 4): Lightning, hailstorm and thunderstorm accompanied with gusts of 30-40 kmph will occur at some places in Uttarakhand; Possibility of lightning and strong winds at 40-50 kmph in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and some places in Assam; Lightning will hit 30-40 kmph in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Kerala and some places in Mahe Strong winds will move; Possibility of lightning at some places in Bihar, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Lakshadweep.

Heavy rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and some places in Kerala and Mahe.

Dust storms with gusts up to 30-40 kmph can occur at some places in eastern Rajasthan.

19 April (Day 5): Lightning likely and thunderstorm at 40-50 kmph in Sub-Himalayas, West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya and some places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; Possibility of lightning at some places in Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand and strong winds of 30-40 kmph; Lightning may hit places in Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, and some places in Kerala and Mahe.
