PM Narendra Modi will launch three mega projects in Gorakhpur, the home region of CM Yogi

Gorakhpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three major projects, including an AIIMS and a major fertilizer plant, in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s home region Gorakhpur on Tuesday.

Regional Medical Research Center, a regional unit of ICMR, is also included in three ambitious projects set to give further impetus to the development of underdeveloped eastern Uttar Pradesh.

UP Chief Minister Adityanath reached Gorakhpur on Monday evening and took stock of the preparations for Prime Minister Modi’s visit here on Tuesday. The Prime Minister will inaugurate three ambitious projects worth over Rs 9,600 crore on Tuesday.

These projects include the newly constructed fertilizer plant of Hindustan Fertilizer Rasayan Limited (HURL), AIIMS Bhawan and Regional Medical Research Center, a regional unit of ICMR here.

During the inspection of the fertilizer plant, Adityanath said that Prime Minister Modi’s rule has been historic for the development of Uttar Pradesh and accordingly the inauguration program of the plant and AIIMS should be grand.

Adityanath reached the fertilizer plant around 5 pm and asked the officials to take full care of the PM’s security apart from the common man.

Officials said the Rs 8,603-crore fertilizer plant would produce 12.7 lakh metric tonnes of neem-coated urea per year, adding that the project would not only bring prosperity to the lives of farmers but also create 20,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities for the youth. Opportunities will also arise.

He said that the Gorakhpur AIIMS, built at a cost of Rs 1,011 crore, would benefit not only the people of Eastern UP but also a large population of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Nepal with world-class health facilities.

Similarly, the Rs 36-crore Regional Medical Research Center will facilitate testing and research of vector-borne diseases, he said, adding that hi-tech labs will reduce the region’s dependence on big cities for tests related to vector-borne diseases. ,

Electric buses will also start operating in Gorakhpur from Tuesday, he said, adding that they were waiting for their inauguration at the Nausad bus station premises from October 28. Chief Minister Adityanath had flagged off electric buses in Lucknow on October 5 and 15. The buses had reached Gorakhpur on 28 October.
