Mamata Banerjee’s warned Mahua Moitra: The party will decide who will contest the elections

Kolkata: In a shocking turn of events, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee – during the administrative review meeting of Nadia district on Thursday (December 9) – came down heavily on party MP Mahua Moitra from Krishnanagar constituency.

Slamming Moitra, Banerjee said, “…and Mahua, I want to give you a clear message. I don’t want to know who is against whom. For creating my own set that will appear on YouTube.” , or the digital medium, or the newspaper paper – this kind of politics can last for a day, but not for long. There is no reason to believe that a person remains in one position forever.”

The Chief Minister further warned Moitra and said that the party will decide who to give ticket during the elections. “During the elections, the party will decide who will contest and who will not. There should be no differences and everyone will have to work together. I am aware of everything,” Banerjee said.

These comments come in the wake of infighting and trouble within the Nadia district leadership. Party sources said supremo Mamata Banerjee was deeply disturbed by the recent incidents where two factions of TMC are at loggerheads within the district.

Banerjee further said that the recent clashes within the party were an act of sabotage, and investigation by the police has revealed who was behind it. He said, “The investigation was done by the police and I know who is behind it. This whole episode was staged and then it was leaked to the media. Everyone has to work together.”
