Independent MLA Sanyam Lodha on Tuesday said he was a ‘slave’ of the Nehru-Gandhi family and would remain so till his last breath.
Lodha made this statement during a debate on the Haridev Joshi Journalism and Mass Communication (Amendment) Bill, 2022 in the state assembly. He was replying to a comment made by a BJP MLA.
The MLA from Sirohi constituency is one of the advisors to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
“BJP MLA was expressing his views in the House and said that we are slaves of Gandhi-Nehru family. Yes, we are slaves till our last breath. We will continue to do slavery of the Gandhi-Nehru family because the family has led in the country. development,” Lodha said.
Lodha’s statement was criticized by Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore. Rathore said, “This is a new culture that has emerged. Congratulations on slavery. What message will you give to the society.”
JP Chandeliya, who was presiding over the proceedings of the assembly at that time, urged the members to maintain order.
