According to Skanda Purana, once a drop of sweat of Mata Parvati fell on the Mandarachal mountain and a bael tree came out from it. Because the Bael tree originated from the sweat of Mother Parvati. Therefore, all the forms of Mother Parvati reside in it. She resides in the form of Girija in the root of the tree, as Maheshwari in its trunk, as Dakshinayani in the branches and as Parvati in the leaves.
Katyayani form resides in fruits and Gauri form resides in flowers. Apart from all these forms, the form of Goddess Lakshmi resides in the whole tree. Due to the reflection of Mother Parvati in Bel Patra, it is offered to Lord Shiva.
By offering Bel leaves on Lord Shiva, he is pleased and fulfills the wishes of the devotee. A person who cannot go to any pilgrimage place, if he worships the root part of the Bilva tree in the month of Shravan and offers water in it, then he gets the virtue of visiting all the pilgrimages.
Importance of Bel Patra
Snakes do not come around the Bilva tree. If someone’s funeral procession passes through the shade of the Bilva tree, then he attains salvation. Bilva tree has the highest ability to absorb the impurities present in the atmosphere. One who gets 4, 5, 6 or 7 leaf bilva leaves is extremely fortunate and offering it to Shiva gives infinite times.
Cutting down a bael tree destroys the offspring and planting a bael tree leads to the growth of the offspring. The mere sight of the Bel tree in the morning and evening destroys the sins. By irrigating the bael tree, the ancestors are satisfied. If the bael tree and the white aak are planted in pairs, one attains inexhaustible Lakshmi.

By planting, nurturing and cultivating the bael tree, one definitely gets the benefit of interviewing Mahadev. Do not damage the tree for bilva leaves.
