In a sensational development, Param Bir Singh, former Mumbai Police Commissioner who was recently shunted out from his post, on Saturday alleged that Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had asked suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze to collect Rs 100 crore for him every month.

Param Bir Singh dropped this bombshell in a letter he has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, copying it to Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

The former Mumbai top cop has alleged in the letter that Deshmukh had called Sachin Vaze to his official residence several times over the past few months and ‘repeatedly instructed’ him to ‘assist in collection of funds’ for him.
