New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) today issued notices (NIA) for inviting applications for auction of spectrum in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 2500 MHz bands. Key features of NIA are:
Spectrum has been proposed in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 2500 MHz bands.
The total spectrum up for auction are – 660 MHz in the 700 MHz band, 230 MHz in the 800 MHz band, 81.4 MHz in the 900 MHz band, 313.6 MHz in the 1800 MHz band, 175 in the 2100 MHz band.
MHz, 560 MHz in the 2300 MHz band and 230 MHz in the 2500 MHz band.
Block size is – 200 kHz (paired) in 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands, 1.25 MHz (paired) in 800 MHz band, 5 MHz (paired) in 700 MHz band, 5 MHz (paired) in 2100 MHz band, 2300 MHz band. And 10 MHz in the 2500 MHz band (not coupled).
The validity of the auctioned spectrum will be 20 years.
The option of payment in installments is given for successful bidders.
The auction format is a simultaneous multiple-round and ascending (SMRA) e-auction.
NIA provides details about reserve price, pre-qualification conditions, advance money deposit (EMD), auction rules, etc.
The last date for submission of applications to participate in the auction is February 5, 2021.
The auction will begin on March 01, 2021, and will be conducted online.
