TMC leaders condemned the way the party supremo was insulted and said that the rival BJP should learn how to respect women.
Kolkata: An alleged video clip, in which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is seen sitting on a wheelchair and has gone viral on social media with her leg back and forth, is giving her rivals the chance to claim that She was playing her injuries to win. Sympathy.
As reported by news agency, the TMC, however, condemned the “way of insulting the party supremo” and the rival BJP should learn.
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit shared the video with his verified Twitter account.
(The authenticity of the video has not yet been verified.)
BJP spokesperson Prannoy Roy, who also shared the clip on Facebook, said Banerjee should “stop pretending over her injuries” to garner public support in the midst of the assembly election.
This video, which surfaced on networking websites, has not been filmed by anyone from the BJP. It was recorded by some TMC party workers. We want her to return to normal life soon, we pray for her too… but she must stop this drama from getting around in a wheelchair.
“If she was exercising to shake her leg, I suggest she start walking because it would make her recovery faster,” he said.
Expressing strong opposition to the remarks made by BJP leaders, Minister of State Shashi Panja said that the saffron camp has insulted not only her but also all the women of Bengal, suspecting Banerjee’s injuries.
Panja said, “We condemn the way BJP is insulting our beloved CM. They are insulting not only our CM but also other women of the state. Urge to show proper respect. “
Former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, who recently joined TMC, said that if anyone is lying, it was BJP and not TMC.
“Are they (BJP leaders) trying to say that many people, including eminent doctors, are involved (in treating it) are lying? It is only BJP that is capable of lying like this. My mind “There is no doubt. There is (publicity) behind it,” said Sinha, who worked as the finance minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee cabinet.
On March 10, Banerjee suffered injuries to her left leg, waist, shoulder and neck after she was allegedly pushed by miscreants in Nandigram.
