Five persons were killed and over 50 injured when a train derailed in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district on Thursday, causing a sudden jolt of the Bikaner-Guwahati Express (15633) train 12 coaches of the Bikaner-Guwahati Express train derailed and three overturned.
An NFR spokesperson said in Guwahati that the accident took place at around 5 pm near Domohani under Alipurduar division of Northeast Frontier Railway.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and took stock of the situation after the train accident in Bengal.

“The grant has been announced and we will fulfill all our duties,” Vaishnav said.
