British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will not able to attend the Republic Day parade

A spokesman for Downing Street said, "The Prime Minister spoke to Prime Minister Modi this morning, to express his regret that he would be unable to visit India early this month.

UK PM Boris Johnson called PM Modi and regretted that he would have to cancel his trip to India. His country is facing a serious threat of new covid-19 ‘strain’. UK PM Boris Johnson was invited to attend the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 as the chief guest.

A spokesman for Downing Street said, “The Prime Minister spoke to Prime Minister Modi this morning, to express his regret that he would be unable to visit India early this month.” With the speed at which the new coronavirus variant is spreading, the Prime Minister said it was important for him to stay in the UK so that he could focus on the domestic response to the virus, ”Johnson told PM Modi.
