The Congress government in Karnataka is under fire from opposition parties after All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala was seen at a Bengaluru infrastructure meeting called by Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took to Twitter to talk about the meeting that took place at a city hotel.
“What is the mystery of the ATM government meeting at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangalore… What was Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala, who has no official connection with the state government or the BBMP, doing there? Is this the place where 85% Is the deal done?” the party asked.
JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy also sought to know who allowed Surjewala to hold government meetings.
He also asked whether Kannada people have voted for a puppet government which works on the whims and fancies of Delhi.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Congress minister Zameer Ahmed Khan also tweeted pictures from the meeting, which he also attended, but later deleted it.
According to sources close to DK Shivakumar, Surjewala and DK Shivakumar were upset with his tweet. Sources said that Shivakumar reprimanded his assistant for allowing people to click photos in this meeting. He also asked his assistant to investigate how these pictures were taken and leaked.
