New Delhi: Today is the second day of the nationwide vaccine festival. The total number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine given in the country today exceeded 10.45 crore.
According to the provisional report till 7 am today, a total of 10,45,28,565 vaccines have been administered through 15,56,361 sessions. These include 90,13,289 HCWs, those who have taken the first dose of the vaccine, and 55,24,344 HCWs who have taken the second dose, 99,96,879 FLW (first dose), 47,95,756 FLW (second dose), 4 over the age of 60, There are 05,30,321 (first dose) and 19,42,750 (second dose) beneficiaries and those between 45 and 60 years of age are 3,20,46,911 (first dose) and 6,78,360 (second dose). On the first day of the Tika festival, around 30 lakh vaccines were administered yesterday.
On the first day of the nationwide vaccine festival, 63,800 Covid Vaccination Centers (CVCs) were operational, which is higher than the average of 18,800 operational CVCs. Most of the CVCs were operational in private workplaces. Additionally, despite being a Sunday, which usually has less vaccination, about 3 million vaccines were administered on the first day of the vaccine festival.
29,33,418 vaccines were administered on the 86th day of the vaccination campaign (April 11, 2021). Of these, 27,01,439 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 38,398 sessions for the first dose, while 2,31,979 beneficiaries received the second dose of the vaccine.
In terms of the number of daily vaccines worldwide, India continues to be on top with an average of 40,55,055 vaccines being applied daily. The corresponding number for yesterday was 38,34,574.
The number of new cases is increasing daily in India. In the last 24 hours, 1,68,912 new cases were registered.
10 states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan have shown an increase in new daily cases of Covid. 83.02 percent of new cases have been reported from these 10 states.
Maharashtra has the highest number of daily new cases reported, with a figure of 63,294. Uttar Pradesh is second with 15,276 and 10,774 new cases have been registered in Delhi.
India’s total active cases have reached 12,01,009. It now accounts for 8.88 percent of the country’s total positive cases. There has been an increase of 92,922 cases in total active cases in the last 24 hours.
The five states – Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala together account for 70.16 percent of India’s total active cases. Maharashtra alone accounts for 47.22 percent of the country’s total active cases.
India’s total recovery has reached 1,21,56,529 today. The national recovery rate is 89.86 percent.
75,086 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The trend of continuous increase in daily deaths is being seen. In the last 24 hours, 904 deaths were recorded.
10 states account for 89.16 percent of the new deaths. Maharashtra recorded the maximum deaths (349), while Chhattisgarh stood second with 122 daily deaths.
Not a single death has been reported from Covid-19 in 9 states / UTs in the last 24 hours. These states are Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh (Union Territory), Daman and Diu and Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Arunachal Pradesh.
