Corona Update: Maharashtra contributes 54.40 percent of India’s total active cases

New Delhi: Some states of the country are registering higher number of corona cases on a per day basis. Corona cases continue to rise daily in Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. The overall contribution of these states is 85.6 percent in the new cases reported in the last 24 hours before Corona. In the last 24 hours, 23,285 new cases of corona were registered.

Maharashtra has the highest number of 14,317 (61.48 per cent) new cases reported on a daily basis, followed by 2,133 in Kerala and 1,305 new cases in Punjab.

8 states are witnessing a steady increase in corona cases on a daily basis.

The total active cases (caseloads) of corona in India today are 1,97,237 and currently active cases in India constitute 1.74 percent of the total positive cases in the country.

The total contribution of the five states in the total active cases of the country is 82.96 percent and the two states Maharashtra and Kerala contribute 71.69 percent to the active cases of the country.

The Central Government is closely monitoring the situation for control and management in Corona cases increasing states / UTs and reviewing the status of Covid cases in these states, strategy to deal with it and public health measures are also being adopted.

Recently, in view of the increasing cases of corona in Maharashtra and Punjab, the Central Government has sent high-level public health teams to control them. Earlier, the central government had sent similar high-level teams to Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir to control the growing cases of Corona and its control. Can be helped. The reports of the Central Teams have been shared with the State Governments and the Union Ministry of Health is monitoring the forward-looking action and compliance matters in these cases.

According to the provisional report received till 7 am today, 2.61 crore (2,61,64,920) vaccine doses have been given to people through 4,87,919 sessions in the country. These include 72,23,071 HCW (first dose), 40,56,285 HCW (second dose), 71,21,124 FLW (first dose) and 6,72,794 FLW (second dose), 10,30,612 suffering from other diseases above 45 years of age. The beneficiary (first dose) and 60,61,034 beneficiaries above 60 years of age are included.

As of 11 March 2021, 4,80,740 vaccines have been given in the country on the 55th day of the Corona vaccination campaign. Of these, 4,02,138 beneficiaries were given the first dose of vaccine through 9,751 sessions (HCW and FLW) and 78,602 were given the second dose of vaccine to HCW and FLW.

The festival of Maha Shivaratri was observed in most of the states yesterday and a decrease in corona vaccination was observed yesterday due to ANM, ASHA workers and women health workers taking vaccinations.

So far, 1.09 crore (1,09,53,303) people have been cured of Corona infection in the country and 15,157 people have been discharged from hospitals after being cured in the last 24 hours.

The graph below shows the trend of active and recovering cases of corona in the period from February 10, 2021 to March 12, 2021 in the country. The difference between active cases of corona and cured patients is steadily increasing and currently stands at 1,07,56,066.

In the last 24 hours, there have been 117 deaths due to Covid.

Seven cases of new deaths 82.91 per cent belong to seven states. Maharashtra had the highest number of deaths at 57 patients. After this, 18 people have died in Punjab and 13 in Kerala.

In 19 states / Union Territories no deaths have been reported from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. These states / union territories include Gujarat Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Puducherry, Lakshadeep, Manipur, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Mizoram, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tripura, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
