New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday that India has witnessed a decline in daily new cases of corona virus disease and related fatal cases. Addressing a press conference, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the number of daily cases of Covid-19 is decreasing in at least 18 states and union territories.
Talking about the latest situation, he said, “There are more than 1 lakh active cases in 13 states, 50,000 to 1 lakh active cases in 6 states and less than 50,000 active cases in 17 states.”
Bhushan also said that among the states and union territories where Covid-19 cases are falling, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Telangana , Chandigarh, Ladakh, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Bhushan said that the states and Union Territories where the cases are still high, which are of concern, are Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry. , Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
The Health Ministry official also said that 26 states still have a positivity rate of over 15 percent.
According to an update from the Union Health Ministry, on Tuesday morning, new cases of Covid-19 dropped to 3.29 lakh after 14 days, taking the infection to 2,29,92,517.
A total of 3,29,942 infections were recorded during the 24-hour period till 8 am, while 3,876 people died of the deadly virus, with the number of deaths from the disease reaching 2,49,992.
After registering steady growth for two months, active cases have increased to 37,15,221, representing 16.16 percent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 82.75 percent.
