Born to Anjana and Kesari, Hanuman is also known as the son of Vayu (wind god), hence he is called Pavan Putra. He is worshipped as the symbol of power, wisdom and devotion and is believed to possess Ashta Siddhis (eight divine powers) and Nav Nidhis (nine types of wealth).
