Here’s what different in this year’s Republic Day celebration than previous Republic days

On 26 Jan 2021, Tuesday is the 72nd republic day celebration, it is for the first time, people seen the Rafale fighter jets on display at the Republic Day Parade this year.

The Rafale fighter jet is India’s first fighter jet aircraft in more than two decades, which will be participating in the Republic Day for the first time. They will fly in a “vertical Charlie” formation, in which the aircraft flies at low altitude, pulls up vertically, and rolls one before stabilizing. India has received eight of the 36 Rafale fighter jets ordered so far.

This is the first Republic Day in over 50 years when there will be no chief guest after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson canceled his trip due to coronavirus.

Mr. Boris Johnson regretted being unable to visit India as the chief guest of the Republic Day parade on Tuesday. In a video message, Johnson emerged as India’s ‘largest sovereign democracy in the world’ and said he plans to travel to New Delhi in the coming months. “I was eager to join you on such an invitation on this important occasion. Johnson said, my friend Prime Minister Modi, I have been kept in London because of our common struggle against COVID.”

For the first time, a marching contingent and band of Bangladesh tri-services participated in the Republic Day Parade to commemorate 50 years of their historic liberation.

A 122-member contingent of Bangladesh armed forces comprising Bangladesh Army soldiers, Bangladeshi Navy sailors, and Bangladesh Air Force air warriors was led by contingent commander Lieutenant Colonel Abu Mohammad Shahnoor Shaun and his personnel, Lieutenant Farhan Isharaq and Flight Lieutenant Sibat Rahman.

This will be the first time that a marching contingent from Bangladesh participate.
