After being crowned the world’s best whiskey brand by Whiskey of the World last October, Indri-Trini has recently won the award for best ‘New World’ whiskey by WinePair, further increasing its international acclaim. WinePair, a digital media company focused on drinks culture, selected a bottle after analyzing hundreds of consumer-oriented tastings from every category of whiskey along with flavor, balance, depth and complexity.
In the 2023 annual list, Piccadilly Distilleries’ Indri won the coveted title. Winners in other categories include Wilderness Trail Small Batch High Rye Bourbon as Best Bourbon; Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye as the best rye; Glenglassaugh Sandsend Highland Single Malt Whiskey as the Best Single Malt Scotch; Establishing Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey as the best Irish whiskey; Mars’ The Lucky Cat May and Luna as Best Japanese; and Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye as the best Canadian whisky, among others.
Speaking on this achievement, Siddharth Sharma, Founder, Piccadilly Distilleries said, “The Indian whiskey industry is evolving spectacularly, and Indri is proud to be at the forefront of this change. The rise in popularity of Indian single malts and indris among consumers and critics around the world is evident in many ways.
VinePair’s latest accolade is another pat on the back. “It is heartening to be recognized as the only Indian single malt whiskey and reinforces our resolve to create high quality whiskey that has become the preferred choice of consumers.”
