JDS chief HD Kumaraswamy says Congress 50-60 MLAs will join BJP

Kumaraswamy also said that the fate of the Congress government in the state will be decided only after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Continuing his attack on the Karnataka government, state JDS chief HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday claimed that a “powerful minister” in the Siddaramaiah cabinet has joined the BJP along with 50-60 Congress MLAs to escape from various cases pending against him. Talking to BJP high command in front of different investigating agencies.

Kumaraswamy also said that the fate of the Congress government in the state will be decided only after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Without naming the minister, the former CM said, “Someone informed me that the minister will join BJP along with 50-60 MLAs.”

He was replying to reporters when asked about the prediction made by the saint of Kadsiddeswara Math in Nonavinakere that DK Shivakumar would become the CM in future. Kumaraswamy said that everything is not well in Congress in Karnataka. He said not just senior leader BK Hariprasad, but many other leaders have “rebelled” against CM Siddaramaiah. He predicted, “Maharashtra-like political developments can happen in Karnataka also.”

He also criticized Siddaramaiah for announcing Rs 10,000 crore for the welfare of minorities. Kumaraswamy alleged that Siddaramaiah was trying to divide the society on caste and religious lines which would pave the way for future communal clashes in the state.

The JDS leader said the party will take out a padayatra from Arsikere to Tumkuru to draw the attention of the state and central governments towards the problems of coconut growers.
