Red Fort Blast: 10 killed, 24 injured in bomb blast near Red Fort

Red Fort Blast: At least 10 people were killed and 24 injured in a powerful explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi today. A vehicle exploded outside Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. All the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Eyewitnesses said the blast was so powerful they thought they would “all die.”

Several vehicles caught fire and suffered extensive damage. The Delhi Fire Service and LNJP Hospital have confirmed the deaths and treatment of the injured.

The explosion caused several cars to catch fire in this area, popular with tourists. At least 20 fire engines have reached the area.

Images from the area show that the damage is extensive, not just superficial. The Old Delhi area near the Red Fort is one of the most crowded areas in the national capital.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has reached the scene. They have cordoned off the blast site. Traffic has been diverted from areas of Old Delhi.

A local told ANI, “When we saw someone’s hand on the road, we also saw someone’s lungs. No one could imagine what had happened.”

A Delhi resident told ANI, “When we got closer, we saw body parts scattered on the road. No one could understand what had happened. Many vehicles were damaged.”

A local shopkeeper told ANI, “I have never heard such a loud explosion in my life. I fell down three times because of the blast. It felt as if the earth would split. I left my shop and started running. Some families also started running and fell on the ground. It felt as if if there was another explosion, we would all die. I felt as if death was coming towards me.”
