The Sabarmati Report OTT release: Dheeraj Sarna’s ‘The Sabarmati Report’ premiered in theatres on November 15, 2024 and instantly gained attention for its tragic portrayal of the 2002 Godhra train fire. The Vikrant Massey starrer is now set for an OTT release after grossing Rs 1.25 crore on its first day at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk.com, the film’s total box office collection stands at Rs 28.80 crore.

The film stars Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna, Riddhi Dogra, Tushar Phulke, AI Arjun, Anjali Nadig, Sandeep Kumar and Sandeep Ved. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan. The film, with a budget of Rs 50 crore, includes the cost of both production and advertising. The film depicts one of the most controversial incidents in modern Indian history – the Sabarmati Express fire on February 27, 2002, which claimed 59 lives. Massey plays a journalist who is determined to uncover the truth behind the fire, and questions whether it was an accident or a deliberate attack. His character is driven by a strong sense of moral responsibility, while Raashi Khanna’s role challenges his assumptions about journalism and the media’s influence on public opinion. The film highlights the complexities of reporting such incidents and raises questions about the pursuit of truth in a world often shaped by political objectives.

The Sabarmati Report also garnered a lot of attention after Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a special screening on Monday evening. He was accompanied by members of his Cabinet and the film’s cast.
