Sonowal said that although appointment to government service is a regular process, some of the recruitments exemplify moral values and inspire people in society and administration to follow the path of righteousness.
He described the latest recruitment of sub-inspectors in the Assam Police as an example of truth, honesty and coordinated efforts, which testified to the police force’s capabilities to fight challenges while setting a new criterion for transparency.
He also congratulated the newly recruited sub-inspectors and their parents on the occasion.
“The uniform of a policeman acts with great responsibility, duty and prudence and I urge the newly appointed sub-inspectors to contribute in giving a new impetus to the police force,” he said.
The state government has adopted an integrated sports policy to make sports a promising career for the younger generation.
He said, “The state government appointed Sprinter Hima Das as DSP in the Assam Police as she has made the state proud by her achievements in the national and international sports sector.”
The Chief Minister also observed that the appointment of Das would motivate the youth to dedicate more honestly in the field of sports.
Sonowal urged the new sub-inspectors to maintain the dignity of the police force and perform their duty without favoring any section of the society.
He asked them to work with loyalty to protect the lives and qualities of people without any fear and favor.
He also said that newly appointed sub-inspectors should take exemplary steps against corruption and should serve the society with utmost dedication and commitment.
