New Delhi: The passenger plane of Tara Air going from Pokhara to Jomsom in Nepal has gone missing. 22 people including crew members were on board this plane, of which four are said to be Indians. The airport authority says that there has been no contact with the aircraft since 10.35 am.

According to The Kathmandu Post, the plane had flown from Pokhara carrying 19 passengers. Jomsom Airport’s traffic controller said there had been reports of a loud explosion in Ghasa, but this could not be confirmed. The helicopter has been sent to the area where the last contact was made. The last contact was made at Leyte Pass. There were 13 Nepalis, four Indians, two Germans, and three crew members on board the passenger plane.

The airport official said that the plane took off from Pokhara for Jomsom at 9:55 am.

Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma said the plane was spotted over the skies of Jomsom in Mustang district and then diverted to Mount Dhaulagiri, after which it did not make contact.

Tara Air spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula said that Captain Prabhakar Prasad Ghimire, co-pilot Utsav Pokharel and air hostess Kismi Thapa were on board the flight.
