New Delhi: The BJP has prepared a formal blueprint of its political strategy to take the ambitious schemes of the central and state government to the people in Uttar Pradesh to strengthen its position for next year’s UP assembly elections. In view of the upcoming assembly elections, the BJP leadership has given victory mantra to its MPs and has also told about their role in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP leadership asked the MPs not only to go from village to village to meet people but also to ensure vaccination in every area.
The BJP had registered a thumping victory in the recently concluded rural local bodies elections. The party said its resounding victory in the rural elections is a sharp indication of the development agenda taken up by the state government, which includes the construction of expressways, providing drinking water facilities and electricity to rural households.
BJP vice-president and UP in-charge Radha Mohan Singh, who presided over the political resolution, said the state was facing several challenges including corruption, mafia, terrorism and politics of appeasement. He said that now the terrorist accused have no respect in the state and action has also been initiated against those involved in forcible conversion.
Deputy CM Keshav Maurya said that the work of the state government and the organization has boosted the morale of the party workers. He claimed that the party is ready to win next year’s state elections based on the work done by the state government and the strength of the party organisation.
The state executive cleared the proposal to step up its activities along with covid management, among experts expressing their apprehensions about the third wave in the state. The move is being seen as an attempt by the BJP to counter a vocal opposition that is trying to push the ruling party to the wall, accusing it of mismanagement of the pandemic, especially during the deadly second wave. The executive said that while experts expressed apprehensions about the impact of COVID on the country’s most populous state, it was the leadership strategy of PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath that helped the ruling party tackle the pandemic. The party also condemned the opposition’s stand of spreading rumors and negativity which affected the efforts of the state government to combat the crisis. It also criticized opposition leaders for tarnishing the image of scientists engaged in the manufacture of vaccines.
Making a special mention of Varanasi, the executive said that the city managed to control the second wave of the pandemic within 10 days of its emergence. This was yet another endorsement of the Varanasi model of Covid management, overseen by BJP MLC Arvind Kumar Sharma, a former IAS officer of Gujarat cadre.
