Indian Railways has issued a new guideline, according to the new guideline, a passenger can transfer a confirmed ticket to another person. If an individual has a confirmed train ticket but is unable to make his journey for a valid reason, he can transfer his confirmed train ticket to other person. A confirmed ticket can be transferred only to a family member such as mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, husband, and wife.
There are some steps that you need to follow in order to transfer you ticket to another person, the foremost step that you need to take out the print out of the ticket, then you need to carry the ID proof like Aadhar Card or Voter ID card of the person whom you want to transfer your ticket to, and head towards the reservation counter at the nearest railway station. And then, finally, apply for the transfer of the ticket over the counter.
But the passengers need to raise a request 24 hours before the departure of the train. Another important thing which has to be kept in mind, is that the transfer of the ticket can be availed only one time.
