Mumbai: Acclaimed and successful filmmaker Anubhav Sinha will participate in the 26th edition of the prestigious Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) scheduled from 8 to 15 January 2021.
For the Satyajit Ray Memorial Lecture this year, KIFF is delighted to be a renowned narrator as a respected speaker, where he will be seen sharing his thoughts on the topic ‘Social Responsibility in mainstream Indian cinema’ .
Festival organizers have also scheduled a screening of Anubhav Sinha’s critically acclaimed film ‘Mulk’ on the second day of the event.
Sinha’s recent works, Mulk (2018), Article 15 (2019), and Thappad (2020) have served as a mirror for society, showing the consequences of religious bias, caste discrimination, and domestic violence. The importance and seriousness of the topic of the lecture will be clarified through a discussion of its critically acclaimed works.
