New Delhi: 10 passengers have died in a fierce collision in a bus and truck on the Agra highway in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. More than 25 people have been injured in this accident.
Eyewitnesses said that due to dense fog and wrong overtaking, this horrific accident occurred. The injured have been rushed to the hospital. Top police and administration officials have reached the spot, relief and rescue work is going on. The incident took place at Hussainpur Pulia in the Kundarki area, about 18 km from Moradabad city.
According to the news agency, at least 10 people were killed and several injured in a horrific road accident after a passenger bus collided with a truck on the Moradabad-Agra highway. The accident occurred on Saturday morning due to low visibility on the highway due to dense fog.
The SSP said, “The forensic team is here, the rescue work is almost complete. 3 vehicles collided. Eyewitnesses have told us that this incident happened in the guise of overtaking it.
Taking cognizance of the situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2-2 lakh to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured. Simultaneously, CM Yogi ordered an inquiry into the incident and directed the authorities to provide assistance and health services to the victims.
According to police, a private bus was on its way to Moradabad carrying passengers from Kundarki. As the bus approached the Nanpur culvert, the canter coming from the front hit the bus. The canter overturned in the accident, while the bus was badly damaged. After the collision, the bus uncontrolled collided with the third vehicle.
Currently, a team of doctors is treating the injured. There was a heavy traffic jam on the highway after the accident. Police removed the affected vehicles from the highway and drove them out through cranes and traffic has now cleared.
