China’s hospitals ‘full of sick children’, India ‘closely monitoring’ pneumonia outbreak

Amid a rise in the incidence of respiratory illnesses in China, the Union Health Ministry on Friday said it is closely monitoring the H9N2 outbreak and clusters of respiratory illnesses among children in the neighboring country.

“The risk to India from avian influenza cases as well as clusters of respiratory disease reported from China remains low. India is prepared for any emergency arising out of the current situation, the ministry said in a statement.
