New Delhi: In another encouraging development, daily new cases of Covid-19 being filed in India fell to less than two lakhs after 40 days (1,84,372 cases were reported on 14 April 2021). In the last 24 hours, 1,96,427 new cases were reported.
The number of active cases of Covid-19 in India has now fallen to 25,86,782. The number of active cases has decreased since reaching its last peak on 10 May 2021. There has been a decrease of 1,33,934 active cases in the last 24 hours. This constitutes 9.60 percent of the total Covid positive cases in the country.
Also, the daily number of people recovering from the disease in India is more than the 12th consecutive day of daily new cases of Covid-19. In the last 24 hours, 3,26,850 people have recovered from the disease.
A total of 2,40,54,861 people in India have recovered from the disease so far. The national rate of recovery from the disease has also improved to 89.26 percent.
There were a total of 20,58,112 investigations in the last 24 hours in India, with the total number of investigations conducted so far is 33,25,94,176. The daily positivity rate was reduced to 9.54 percent today.
According to the temporary report, a total of 19,85,38,999 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given in 28,41,151 sessions till 7 am today. These include 97,79,304 healthcare personnel (HCWs) who have taken the first dose of the vaccine, and 67,18,723 HCWs who have taken the second dose of the vaccine. Also included are 1,50,79,964 frontline personnel (FLW) taking the first dose, 83,55,982 FLW taking the second dose, and 1,19,11,759 people taking the first dose in the age group of 18 to 44 years. Along with this, 6,15,48,484 beneficiaries taking the first dose between 45 and 60 years of age and 99,15,278 beneficiaries taking the second dose, as well as 5,69,15,863 first dose and 1,83,13,642 second dose. The beneficiaries above 60 years of age are also included.
In the last 24 hours, 12.82 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given to people in the age group of 18-44 years in the last 24 hours. This figure is the highest since the implementation of the Phase III liberalized and accelerated strategy on 1 May 2021.
