Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s Test captain on Saturday. In a Twitter post, he said, “Everything has to come to a halt at some stage and for me as India’s Test captain, it is now. The journey has had many ups and downs, but there has never been a lack of effort or faith.”
His shocking announcement came a day after India lost the Test series 1-2 in South Africa. Kohli led India to the top of the world rankings and during his tenure, the team registered a memorable series win in Australia.
