New Delhi: The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved a bonus of Rs 3,737 crore for central government employees. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that 30 million government employees will benefit from this bonus. Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that money will be directly transferred to the accounts of employees through DBT i.e. Direct Benefit Transfer. He informed that the payment of bonus of Rs 3737 crore to 30 lakh central government employees will start immediately before Dussehra or Durga Puja.
The Union Cabinet has given its approval to pay the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for the year 2019-2020 to non-gazetted employees of commercial establishments like Railways, Posts, Defense, EPFO, ESIC. This decision of the central government will benefit more than 30 lakh non-gazetted employees of the government. This will put an additional burden of Rs 3,737 crore on the fiscal treasury.
The minister said, “Non-PLB or ad-hoc bonus is given to non-gazetted central government employees. This will benefit 13.70 lakh employees and 946 crore will have financial implications for the same. ”He said that the bonus would be given in an installment through direct benefit transfer before Vijayadashami. This will help the middle class to spend and thus increase the demand in the economy.
Last week, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the introduction of a special festival advance scheme for government employees. Through this, employees will be able to take 10 thousand rupees in advance.
Let us tell you that seeing the impact of Kovid 19 on the economy, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also announced a special LTC cash scheme. Central government employees will get the benefit of this. In this scheme, employees will get cash vouchers in lieu of LTA.
However, it will have to be used before 31 March 2021. However, to avail this facility, the government has some guidelines which have to be followed. It is believed that this will increase travel demand.

The Finance Minister said that all central employees can take advantage of this scheme. He said that state government employees can also take advantage of this. But the state government will have to accept these proposals.

Finance Minister said that employees will get RuPay pre-paid card to take advantage of this scheme. It will be recharged beforehand. It will get 10 thousand rupees. Also, all the bank charges on this will also be borne by the government.
How to repay money?
Employees can repay the amount taken in advance in 10 months. That is, you will have to pay an installment of thousand rupees a month.
