The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a sixth summons to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and asked him to appear before the federal agency for questioning in connection with its money laundering probe related to alleged fraudulent sale and purchase of land in Ranchi. The matter was referred to on Monday.
“The chief minister is expected to be present at the agency’s zonal office in Ranchi on Tuesday,” an official said.
Jharkhand High Court rejects Soren’s plea against the fifth summons. He first approached the Supreme Court regarding this. The top court directed him to file his petition before the High Court.
Soren, who is the working president of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, has not yet challenged the high court order.
