New Delhi: Good news for around 6 crores EPF customers, Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has paid interest in the accounts of all PF holders in the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) accounts at an 8.5 percent interest rate for 2019-20.

People can withdraw this money from their accounts. “

In September, EPFO ​​decided to split the 8.5 percent interest rate for EPF account holders into 8.15 percent and two installments of 0.35 percent, citing the time due to the corona virus crisis. The announcement was made after a meeting between EPFO ​​trustees and Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar.

In March this year, during the Covid-19-induced nationwide lockdown, the EPFO ​​approved an 8.5 percent interest rate on the EPF for 2019-20. Later, in September, the EPFO ​​decided to honor its commitment to provide an interest rate of 8.5 percent for the previous fiscal year. But in view of the epidemic, it was also decided to divide the interest rate into two installments of 8.15 percent and 0.35 percent.

EPFO had earlier tweeted that subscribers can check their PF balance using SMS, online, missed call, and UMANG App.

How to check the balance in EPF account?

Balance can be checked online
Login to epfindia.gov.in. After this, enter your UAN number, password, and captcha code in it. Then click on your e-passbook. When you have completed all your details, you will reach a new page. Enter your member ID there. After this, you can see all your PF balance there.

View balance on UMANG App
Download the UMANG App. Then click on EPFO. After that, you will reach Employee Centric Services. If you click it, the option of View Passbook will appear. Enter your UAN number and password there. After this, an OTP will arrive on your mobile phone. Your balance will be visible as soon as you put this OTP in the app.

Can check with SMS
To check EPF balance through SMS, you have to get your mobile number registered on the UAN portal. For this, you have to send an SMS to the number 7738299899 by writing ‘EPFOHO UAN’. After that, you can know your EPF balance.

You can know the balance from a missed call
EPFO account holders can also know their balance by giving a missed call. But for this, the mobile number of the account holder has to be registered on the UAN portal. After this, the account holders can check their PF balance by making a missed call on 011-22901406 from their registered number.
