Govt new guideline boosting domestic production in drugs and medical devices

New Delhi: The production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for bulk drugs and medical devices has received a very encouraging response from the pharmaceutical as well as the medical device industry. 247 applications have been received for registration in all four categories of products under the PLI scheme for bulk drugs, out of which a maximum of 136 applicants will be selected under the scheme. Similarly, all four targeted under the PLI scheme for medical devices 28 applications have been received for registration in the segments, out of which maximum 28 applicants will be selected under this scheme. IFCI Limited is the project management agency for these schemes and all applications are being received on its online portal.

The last date to fill the application under both the schemes is 30.11.2020.

Keeping in mind the last date of 30.11.2020 and bank holidays from 28.11.2020 to 30.11.2020, the current and prospective applicants registering are advised to pay the application fee through NEFT. The PLI scheme for bulk drugs and medical devices was approved by the Government on 20.03.2020. Guidelines for implementation of both the schemes were issued on 27.07.2020 and subsequently amended based on the feedback received from both these industries. Were done.
