India vs England (IND vs ENG) T20 Series 2021: Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan scored half-centuries as India defeated England in the second T20I to beat the five-match series.
Virat Kohli hit a winning six for India against England in the second T20I of the five-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In response to England’s 165-run target, captain Kohli played an unbeaten innings of 73 off 49 balls to help India score 166 for three in 17.5 overs. The hosts lost KL Rahul to the Duck, their chase started poorly.
But after Kohli’s arrival, India started picking up momentum and also saw the captain’s partnership with captain Ishaan Kishan. Kishan also recorded a half-century (56 runs in 32 balls) before being dismissed.
Rishabh Pant also contributed a remarkable 26 runs, with Shreyas Iyer (8) remaining unbeaten with Kohli. The visiting bowlers did not really set foot in the second T20I, with Sam Curran, Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid recording one wicket each. Earlier, the visitors were able to score 164 for six in 20 overs, with Jason Roy (46 for 35) missing the half-century once again.
For India’s bowling department, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur took two wickets each. Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each. The win has helped India tie the series 1–1 with the third T20I to be held on 16 March.
