India’s youngest Mayor Arya Rajendran, who created history at the age of 21

New Delhi: At the age of 21, a college student from Thiruvananthapuram has been elected the youngest mayor of the country. When Arya heard this news, she felt that college friends had joked with her. But when he got a call from the Communist Party’s District Office, he said that he believed. She was told by the party that she would be the new mayor of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.

Let us tell you that Arya Rajendran, a Communist student known as General Z of Trivandrum, will now become the Mayor of the city. Arya Rajendran will make history as the city’s administrative head, perhaps the youngest politician in the country.

Arya’s father Rajendran, born in a middle-class family and living in a one-floor house, is an electrician, while mother Sreelata Rajendran is an LIC agent. Arya is very happy after being elected to the Mayor. He said that he will carry out all the responsibilities given by the party well.

Rajendran is a BSc Mathematics student at All Saints College in the city. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPM, which took part in local body elections in Kerala earlier this month, elected her as the mayoral candidate, subject to approval by its state-level decision-making body. This selection is also important as the CPM is going to take a tough fight with the BJP and Congress in next year’s state assembly elections.

Significantly, elections were held recently for mayor and local bodies. In the 100-member corporation, the ruling party has won 51 seats, while the BJP has won 35 seats. After this, the ruling party surprised everyone by handing over the prestigious post to the first-time councilor. Senior party leader Jamila Sreedharan and two others were also in the race, but the party chose a young leader instead.

Rajendran is currently a state committee member of the Students’ Federation of India and chairman of the state unit of Balasangham, the children’s wing of the CPM.
