Magha Purnima has special significance in Hindu scriptures. This year Magha Purnima is falling on 16 February. Mythological belief is that on this day the deities from Devlok come to the earth. The auspicious time of bath donation will start from 9.42 am on February 16. This auspicious time will end on the night of 16 February at 10:55 pm. It is auspicious to take a bath in the holy rivers in the auspicious time and then donate it. Apart from this, flow of sesame seeds in water is also auspicious. On the other hand, on the day of Magha Purnima, there will be a combination of Moon and Ashlesha Nakshatra in Cancer. By which Shobhan Yoga will be formed. Which is considered auspicious. On the day of Magha Purnima, offer 11 cowries to Goddess Lakshmi. After this, apply tilak on it with turmeric. The next day, tie these shells in a red cloth and keep them in a place of wealth. It is believed that by doing this there is no shortage of money.
Offer kheer to Maa Lakshmi on the night of Magha Purnima. Also worship Maa Lakshmi and chant her mantras. Apart from this, Tusli light a lamp of ghee below. Maa Lakshmi is pleased by doing this.

What not to do
According to religious scriptures, one should not sleep till late on the day of Magha Purnima. Doing so brings bad luck in life.
The house and courtyard should not be kept dirty on this day. Due to this negative energy starts to reside in the house. Also, there is no arrival of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.
Wearing black clothes on Magha Purnima is considered a taboo. Apart from this, there should not be any kind of discord in the house on this day, because doing so does not lead to happiness and peace in life.
Hair and nails should not be cut on this day, it causes defects. Apart from this, the elders of the house should not be insulted on this day, because doing so causes Pitra Dosh. Due to which all kinds of problems start in life.
On the day of Magha Purnima, one should not criticize or utter abusive words even by mistake. It is believed that by doing this Maa Lakshmi goes away forever.
