NISAR represents an unprecedented step forward in Earth observation technology. As the inaugural instrument in the Earth System Observatory, it is designed to measure the planet’s changing ecosystems, dynamic surfaces, and ice masses.
The data collected by NISAR will be invaluable, providing insights into biomass, natural hazards, sea level rise and groundwater. These measurements are important for guiding global efforts in climate change mitigation, hazard preparedness, agriculture and beyond.
