NCP retaliates after Uddhav’s brother supports Maharashtra CM

After Jaidev Thackeray, the elder brother of Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray extended support to Maharashtra CM Ekant Shinde, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson Clyde Cresto took a dig at it. Jaidev Thackeray, who shared the stage with Eknath Shinde at the rebel faction’s Dussehra rally, said let the ‘Shinde Rajya’ come back and let elections be held. He extended his full support to the Chief Minister.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led faction held its Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai.

In his speech, Jaidev said that CM Eknath Shinde was always his “favourite” and is helping the poor, downtrodden and farmers in the state.

“Everyone should stand firmly behind him. So that he can continue his good work,” he said. He further added, “He is also one of those who are working for his people. I give him unconditional support.”

Jaidev Thackeray’s estranged wife Smita was also present at the MMRDA ground of BKC, the rally venue in suburban Mumbai, along with Nihar, son of late Bindumadhav Thackeray, elder brother of Uddhav Thackeray.

Jaidev Thackeray shared the stage with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at the insurgent group’s Dussehra rally at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Wednesday evening. An empty chair used by Shiv Sena founder late Bal Thackeray during his last rally in Thane was placed in the center of the stage.

Both Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray claim that their faction is the “real” Shiv Sena.
