On this day, one gets the special virtue of fasting and by donating, Lakshmi ji resides in the house.

Paush Purnima Puja Method
On the day of Paush Purnima, take a vow of fasting before taking a bath in the morning.
Take a bath in the holy river or pool and before bathing, pay obeisance to Varun Dev.
After bathing, offering arghya to the Sun God while reciting the Surya Mantra.
After retiring from the bath, worship Lord Madhusudan and offer Naivedya to him.
After feeding food to a needy person or a Brahmin, charity and dakshina should be given.
Sesame seeds, jaggery, blankets and woolen clothes should be specially given in charity.
