New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Chief Minister of West Bengal and the Trinamool Congress on the results of the Bengal Assembly elections. The Prime Minister tweeted on Sunday evening saying, “Congratulations to Mamata Didi for the Trinamool Congress victory in West Bengal. The Center will continue to extend all possible support to the Government of West Bengal and will also extend its full support to overcome the Covid-19 epidemic. “
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also congratulated Mamata Banerjee on her Bengal election victory and wrote on Twitter, “Happy to congratulate Mamta ji and the people of West Bengal for defeating BJP”.
Earlier in the day, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also congratulated Mamata for the election result.
The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC is going to form the government in West Bengal again for the third consecutive time.
