Sahara Group founder Subrata Roy passes away at 75 after battling prolonged illness

Announcing the news in a statement, Sahara India Parivar said, “It is with great sadness that Sahara India Parivar announces the demise of our honorable ‘Saharashri’ Subrata Roy Sahara. Saharashri ji was an inspirational leader and visionary , he passed away.” On 14th November 2023 at 10.30 pm due to cardiorespiratory arrest after a long battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension and diabetes.

His loss will be deeply felt by the entire Sahara India family. Saharashree ji was a guiding force, guide and source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of working with him.”

As far as Subrata Roy’s recent net worth is concerned, specific details are not available. In 2013, he reported that he had assets worth approximately 50 million rupees ($915,200).

At that time, Roy revealed that his assets included gold jewelery and gems worth about Rs 30 million, fixed deposits worth Rs 15.9 million and cash and bank deposits worth Rs 3.4 million.
