Tejashwi’s marriage to Rachel Godinho, Lalu’s brother-in-law said Yadav community will retaliate

Tejashwi Yadav got married to Rachel Godinho on Thursday in a ceremony in Delhi. The ceremony took place at Sainik Farms and was attended by top political leaders including former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple, Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti and others.

The marriage took place according to Hindu rituals. Tejashwi’s bride Rachel will now be known as Rajeshwari Yadav.

The couple got engaged on Tuesday night in the presence of close friends and family. They have known each other for more than seven years.

Responding to Tejashwi Yadav’s union with a Christian girl, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s brother-in-law Anirudh Prasad Yadav alias Sadhu said, “Yadav community will retaliate and it will not be tolerated. The community is not tied to anyone.”

Sadhu Yadav, brother of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, claimed that Yadav community would boycott Lalu’s family if Tejashwi Yadav married a Christian girl.

Misa Bharti’s wedding
He further said, “Lalu got his daughters married in the Yadav community and chose a Christian girl for his son? If so why did he reject Misa’s proposal?”

Elaborating on this, he narrated a two-decade-old incident in which Lalu Prasad Yadav allegedly rejected the offer of his eldest Misa Bharti because the boy’s mother was a Brahmin. The boy came from a royal Yadav family in Rajasthan, said Sadhu Yadav.

Sadhu Yadav claimed, “When Lalu came to know that the boy’s mother was a Brahmin, I explained to him that it didn’t matter as the boy’s father was a Yadav. Despite this, Lalu said the marriage would not happen.”

He also alleged that Lalu Prasad Yadav rejected the royal family for his daughter Misa Bharti and then married her into a poor family in Khagaul, Patna.
