Lucknow: Many hospitals have been closed due to Corona virus and more money is being collected at the places where treatment is being done. In such a situation, ESI has announced that they will be treated cheaply by taking user charge from the general public. According to Hindustan, the public will be able to get treatment today by paying 10 rupees in UP’s insurance hospitals and dispensaries i.e. hospitals and dispensaries under ESIC. At present, this facility was not being provided in insurance hospitals (ESIC) under the state government during Covid era. 10 insurance hospitals and 94 dispensaries including Kanpur in the state are under the state government. The appointment of 256 new doctors on behalf of the Director of Labor Medical Services in these hospitals and dispensaries is also going to start soon.
However, the ESI Corporation had already reported that 60 per cent of patients in insurance hospitals and dispensaries are deficient compared to government hospitals. For this reason, ordinary people can be treated by running separate OPD by taking charge.
Prem Prakash, director of the ESI Medical Scheme, said that after the recruitment of doctors, affordable OPD for general public will be started in several districts in Agra, Kanpur. In this OPD, people will be treated cheaply by taking a user charge of 10 rupees.

In the Covid-19 epidemic many doctors have been transferred to the Covid ward which reduced the number of doctors.
