New Delhi: Aadhaar card issuing authority UIDAI has appealed to state governments to verify Aadhaar when it is used as proof of identity. UIDAI has appealed to prevent tampering or use of fake Aadhaar cards.
UIDAI has appealed to the state governments to verify the identity of a person before accepting Aadhaar.
According to UIDAI, the verification can prevent the possible misuse of Aadhaar card. This will encourage the proper use of Aadhaar card.
Let us tell you that tampering with Aadhaar card is a punishable offense. If found doing so can be punished under section 35 of the Aadhaar Act. UIDAI appealed to the State Governments to issue necessary guidelines regarding verification of Aadhaar cards.
UIDAI has said that any Aadhaar can be verified through mAadhaar app or Aadhaar QR code scanner.
